Novosibirsk State Medical University in Figures

    The Novosibirsk State Medical University is now among the top medical universities in Russia. It has great history and traditions, highly professional academic staff. It is a prestigious and constantly developing institution of higher education.

    Preparatory Courses
    NSMU offers preparatory courses to prospective Russian and international students. The preparatory courses help students get prepared for entrance exams to NSMU.

    Faculties
    The Novosibirsk State Medical University has the following faculties: the Faculty of General Medicine, Pediatric Faculty, Dentistry Faculty, The Faculty of Clinical Psychology and Social Work, Pharmaceutical Faculty, Faculty of Preventive Medicine.

    Students
    Today more than 5 000 students are studying at the Novosibirsk State Medical University (among them there are 600  international students from all over the world).

    Postgraduate Studies
   Today over 1200 postgraduate students are studying at the Novosibirsk State Medical University. The postgraduate programs include  residency and Ph.D. program. 
Postgraduate students have 30 medical areas to choose from. Residents are trained in 61 medical fields.

    Academic Staff
   The Novosibirsk State Medical University has over 1700 employees. The University academic staff includes 7 academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, 15 academicians and corresponding members of the International Academy of Sciences of High Education, 59 academicians and corresponding members of various international academies of sciences, 9 NSMU academic staff members have been awarded the title "Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation", 5 academic staff members have been awarded the title "Honored Educator in Higher medical Education of Russian Federation", 27 academic staff members have been awarded the title "Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation", 23 have been recognized as  Distinguished Public Health by the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation.

    Clinical Departments
    Part of medical education is practical work in hospitals where students develop and improve their professional skills. The NSMU collaborates with over 70 large hospitals and clinics of the Novosibirsk city and the Novosibirsk region as well as with research clinics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
