Novosibirsk is one of the biggest cities in Russia and considered the third largest city after Moscow and St.Petersburg and the biggest one behind the Ural. It's situated right in the middle of Russia. The City lies on bouth banks of the Ob river.The day when construction of the new bridge across the Ob river was started is considered to be the day when Novosibirsk was founded.

Faculty of Preventive Medicine

    History: In 2011 the Faculty of Ecology was reorganized into the Faculty of Preventive Medicine.

    Training:

1. - Focus: Health and Prevention.
- Diploma: Medical Doctor.
- Period of study: 6 years.
- Full-time students only.

The Faculty of Preventive Medicine also offers internship in laboratory diagnostics, general hygiene, social hygiene and management of State Sanitary Epidemiological Service and epidemiology.

2. - Focus: Medical Biochemistry.
- Diploma: Medical Doctor, Biochemist.
- The period of study: 6 years.
- Full-time students only.

The Faculty of Preventive Medicine also offers internship in genetics, clinical laboratory diagnostics, forensic and medical examination.

3. - Focus: Medical Biophysics.
- Diploma: Medical Doctor, Biophysicist.
- The period of study: 6 years.
- Full-time students only.

The Faculty of Preventive Medicine also offers internship in clinical laboratory diagnostics, roentgenology, functional diagnostics and ultrasound diagnostics.

    Departments: All the departments of the Faculty are located in the main building.

    Academic Staff: The academic staff of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine includes Doctors of Medicine and PhDs in Medical Sciences.

    Students: The graduates of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine can work in various medical institutions and clinical laboratories.
